April 20th- Emily Poulter

Hey everyone I hope everyone is staying safe... flattening the curve... and all the other phrases we will never want to say again once this is over. The state troopers are going to stop enforcing border control between Louisiana and Texas on Friday. That sounds so crazy to me. Can yall believe next week is finals week? A semester goes by really fast when youre not at school! With the travel ban lifted and school being almost over I am ready to have friends visit from BR. Nothing much has changed since my last post. After a week of drinking too much and not working out at all I am back on track. I have a workout/yoga schedule to make sure I am working on different areas  (it also helps me keep track of what day it is). Riley and I ran 1.5 miles today, I do not like running. I always tell myself go for a run it will be great! Then while I'm running I feel like I am going to die. I guess I am just a yoga/ballet type of girl. But I will do it again.   I figured out how to set u

Hey Everyone, I am still working from home with a steady flow of stuff to do. I’ve been put on the design team for the new Facebook campus at Menlo Park. We are in the early design stages and I got to help with the design of the entry courtyards into the campus. I can’t show any pictures unfortunately. ):  It's been very exciting and terrifying to learn about the campus culture at Facebook. The programming for this place is CRAZY. There's every amenity you could ever think of or ever need, which I think could be because they don't want any employees to leave. How nice! My boss says there’s a possibility to open the office in two weeks. I’m not sure if that is set in stone, but I’ll probably hang back in Louisiana until end of May. Been doing a lot of nothing in my free time. Laying out in the sun, reading, and a little bit of painting. Here’s a painting I did last week: I was working in the office and a goose was looking at me through the win

Hi everyone, I am still working full time from Colorado Springs. I went back to Aspen this weekend to move out of my place because I will still be working from home for the month of May. Colorado went from a "stay at home order" to a "safer at home" order which honestly is the exact same thing..... RIP. Design Workshop has cancelled their entire Summer Internship Program, so I will not be working in Denver this summer, thank you Covid-19!!! Not sure what the summer plans are right now!! We will see!!

Hey guys, I've just about had with this rona nonsense. Being something of a natural hermit, the first couple of weeks at home were actually pretty great, but I'm ready to see the world again. My hours were reduced by half in early April, and since then work has been very slow. One project that Carbo is still actively working on, is a design for the area around the Indian Mounds at LSU. They had a stakeholder meeting a couple of months ago with some Native Americans to see how they felt about them, and it was kind of surprising. If it were completely up to them, they would put a big wall/fence around both of them, with no educational signs. They would prefer they be left alone without maintenance, and let nature take it's course. What would you guys do if you were designing it? Lucky for me, I got a chance to go camping this weekend at my uncle's place in Mississippi, and I didn't realize how badly I needed that. Sitting around a fire with REAL PEOPLE, and breath

Hello,  These past two weeks have been a little tough. It’s getting harder to communicate with some of my coworkers when I need help with something. Just because everyone is doing their own thing, and communicating via remote is a hassle sometimes because everyone is running off their own schedules. Most of my coworkers have young kids and I can’t imagine the difficulties they’re facing with that and deadlines etc. But yes still trucking along. I decided to get a tongue drum for myself for my birthday next week so I’m having fun picking out what kind I want. I’ve been painting here and there as well. And jogging! FULLYRAWKRISTINA is in Houston right now selling fresh fruits and veggies from local farmers. So exciting! I’m probably going to buy a box this weekend. The building of the cat post was a fail. One of the pieces that came with it was destroyed. So I literally built the entire thing and the last leg to complete it was broken. Very annoying. Waiting for the right part now.  Hope

Its been raining here for pretty much the past two weeks. Tomorrow is supposed to be 62 and sunny so Riley and I are driving to Fredericksburg, Willow City, and Marble Falls around hill country. Basically were going wildflower hunting. It will be nice to be somewhere other than our apartment. I will posts some pictures later. I hope we find some pretty places! I read 2 books and am completing some Photoshop challenges.  Last weekend I watched a virtual EDM music festival. That basically sums up these past few weeks. If it wasn't raining I would be hiking and sun bathing! I hope this quarantine ends soon so that I can go to Lady Bird Wildflower Center and Zilker Botanical Gardens. The only parks and trails that are closed are ones that you have to pay to get into so there are still a good number left to explore. These are some pictures from when Riley and I visited Mount Bonnell. It over looks Lady Bird Lake and the Austin skyline.

Hey all, I hope everyone is doing well and is safe. Well still working 40 hour weeks for DTJ remotely, it snowed yesterday on easter and snowing all day today as well. I've been exploring in the mountains a lot and even went up to Wyoming for a day last weekend. As for work, I've been making more 3D models for clients, and cause of the firm liking my rendering capabilities, they want to use me to make a marketing model which would be bringing it to a very high level of render detail, should be fun to do it.  I've attached some images of the most recent rendering for the project Kinston in north Colorado Here are some photos and videos of my travel in the past 2 weeks. I did some hiking up in the red mountain open space in northern colorado and did some offroading up by the Gross reservoir. But now I reminisce on nice weather as I watch 12 inches of snow accumulate on the ground.  Combined some short videos from the offroading trip: https://driv

So these images basically represent what I’ve been up to the last two weeks.  First image - Went out for a run and noticed this artwork. There’s one open spot left on the fence that I MIGHT have to cop and paint something.. I will definitely have to order paint though because I don’t have enough.  Image 2 - My sims painted this artwork and I want to recreate it because it’s such a mood. Not on the fence though.. but on canvas  Image 3 - I just feel like we can all relate to this  Image 4 - This is the artwork the college I told you guys about on the other post is interested in... My boss told me they were probably going to lean towards finding their own artist before I presented the art I found. I don’t understand why college campus’ don’t take more risks with their art pieces. Its beautiful don’t get me wrong like stunning but I just don’t know if I would match it with the energy of a college campus. I feel like college students would appreciate something more creative/colorful/unique

Hi guys, I am still working remotely from Colorado Springs, not much has changed since my last post. Design Workshop is keeping me busy with work. This week I had my 75% CD set due which was a little stressful, but ultimately worked out fine. I sat in on a client meeting which was cool, they responded well to my plan rendering and were very excited about the design. Something new that I'm working on is public engagement videos since we are not going to be able to hold our 3rd public meeting in person. I'm learning Adobe After Effects and I am the only person in the Aspen Office that currently knows how to use it. I actually think it's really fun! There is going to be a total of six videos, all posted on YouTube by the end of April. Currently I am narrating them, which is funny to me. I don't think anyone likes hearing their own voice recorded for so long. My brother and I are still doing the same old things - going grocery shopping, watching movies, working out, pla

Hey folks, Nothing much new to report over here. Work is still chugging along, though this week has gotten a bit slower than last. I got an Ipad a few months ago, which is pretty lucky because I've been using it for any kind of sketching/drafting for work now that I'm home and without a printer. Last month I sold 3 of my electric guitars, and bought a new one that I'm in love with. She's beautiful so I will share a pic w you guys

Hello everyone. I hope you all are well. I have been working from my apartment for quite some time now, since the 16th of March. I don't really like mixing my work with my living-space, and have to be outside as soon as I get off from work. I go on long walks and get some fresh air. Regarding work-load, things have been slower for me, though my coworkers mentioned having about the same amount of work as before working from home, if not more. My latest contributions involve completing a draft of an interactive toolkit, used to prescribe solutions for a riverside hike-and-bike trail. You can view it here: https://xd.adobe.com/view/55b0b48c-ed27-45db-4ab1-680610d76b8a-2381/ Me and a coworker used Adobe Xd to make it. It's still got some snags and buttons that don't work, but making it was interesting. I've also been tasked to annotate and make a PowerPoint for Houston's new Resiliency Plan. The way they organized it is neat. Check it out if you're looking

Good day everyone! Taken on the first day of working remotely During this special period of internship, I gained a special experience that was not available in previous sessions. By contrast, in a company, communication with colleagues is not timely. Working from home has little effect on myself but affects my productivity. Reflecting on my bad habits, time management is really important to me. But I have made some improvements, that is, I no longer stay up late. During the outbreak of coronavirus COVID 19, almost all of the time was spent at home, having a lot of free time after work. This is a great time for developing hobbies. The design work in BREC has a strong purpose and public welfare. This has something to do with the history of this company. I have worked on making the brochure for recruiting project construction funds, from the community and give back community.

I understand we are very difficult at this moment what we have. I am tired to hear the bad news from the internet. I really hope we all can come out during our internship. I want to share something good with you. The spring comes, the cherry flower in Japan is pretty showing! These two pictures I took beside my apartment, that was a snow day. Snow with white and pink Cherry flowers. It was a wonderful moment to take a picture. These two pictures I was shot beside my workplace. I like to run around this river whose name is the Meguro River. It is a famous place to look for Cherry followers in Japan. I got lucky there are no many people to visit this place. Again, I hope we all be safe and healthy!! I believe we can overcome it soon!
