 Hello everyone, 

The past two weeks have not been too interesting I have been hoping on and off about 10 different things at once so it's been busy. Some of these things include the Air Force base in Tyndall, A golf course somewhere in central FL, and re-theming Boca West. They really needed a restructure and that has taken up most of my time. They seem to like every pitch but theming a resort for wealthy Floridians is.. well it's tough to say the least. (Retheming can mean a lot of different things. But my scope was to create a couple slogan's or words that would be advertised in vision of a logo or saying. It was a magnolia flower but I instantly threw it out and going with more of a wave structure or something. Maybe someone could help me here!)

I haven't been to the parks in about four weeks which is the longest I haven't been since I'm down here. So I am going to Epcot on Friday after I get my first covid shot. (Pfizer) wooo.

For anyone interested, on the theme park side of things. Disney sent out about 30-35 requests for Jobs within a small niche of firms. Hopefully we get some of them. One that I am particularly excited about is expansions of Batuu (Starwars land for non starwars nerds) Hoping I can get some more backdoor access to the parks since our Swan and Dolphin hotel project is almost done. But what a notable project to put on a resume! 

One good thing is the people I am getting to meet, one is the Project manager of all Epcot's expansions. I'm hoping you all get to meet him as well. He is an LA but mainly PM's for Disney. Cool guy.

    Pfizer gang! Just got my second shot today! Super cool that you're getting to do a lot with Disney.

    Might just have to take a trip to Orlando during the summer lol

Lately we've been working mostly on a couple of residential projects. One of them is for a local radio guy, which is pretty interesting. Part of the program is going to be an outdoor recording setup, so we need to deal with noise. I also got to put together a short video for the office Instagram of the concept process.   Other than the residential projects, we've also been redecorating the conference room. We're using professional photos taken after some big projects finished up and hanging them to showcase the office's work. We're doing it mostly DIY, and hanging them on these vertical mounts.

Austin Carbo - Design Workshop - Blog #7

Happy May y'all! Not too much has changed since my last post, but there are a few interesting things.  Work:  The project Bosshard Ranch is still on hold by the client, so nothing new to report there. My main focus has been on the  Bear Island project. I finished up the site analysis and now I am working on the illustrative plans for the project. We haven't finalized a design yet, but since Mike thinks this will be a project to submit for an ASLA award I just finished making an illustrative plan for the existing conditions. I haven't done a full illustrative plan at DW up until now so this has been a great learning experience.  I recently got put on a new project for 3 Creek Ranch Clubhouse. It is a country club out in Jackson, WY. That makes it now my third project out in the area. We are once again working with Prospect architects to redo a part of the clubhouse and pool area. Basically all I have done up until this point is create the CAD base for the project. Hopefully

Kaylin Wilson’s Viewport - First Week

Greetings, Houston is lovely. I really am shocked that I like this city as much as I do. I love the area I’m living in. OJB is nice and the workload the first day compared to the second week is night and day. The first day was really nerve wracking and slow, but now it’s fast paced and busy busy. My coworkers took me out to lunch the first week, such angels. I am the only intern, and have decided to make a file for future interns so they won’t go through what I went through. I just think that would be helpful in the future. Doing a lot of work with VectorWorks and LandFX right now. Sometimes I ride the bus to work, but the drive is only 9 minutes away. Making a ton of new friends! Jk, I have no social life but I am staying busy becuase Houston has a ton of stuff going on. Went to a vegan festival last week, and TWO EDM concerts. Saw KSHMR (10/10) performance absolutely a must see, and KASKADE... eh I would give him a 6.8/10.. Shocking I know. I got a few plants for my apartment and o
